Reno, NV, April 16, 2020 -- Medical groups, medical providers, business professionals, community members and restaurants in Northern Nevada have stepped forward to help ensure frontline workers in the war against COVID-19 have energy for the fight. Rounds 4 Heroes and Feed Our Heroes (R4H + FOH) have a shared vision to support heroes on the frontlines and have joined forces to increase their reach and impact.

Dr. James Lynch, Founder and Chairman of Spine Nevada Minimally Invasive Spine Institute, explained, "our frontline workers deal with stress daily, and even more so now as they are on the frontlines of this public health crisis." Dr. Lynch organized Rounds 4 Heroes as a way to support our heroes on the frontlines. The project started with a conversation between Dr. Lynch and Rounds Bakery owner Anton Novak and has garnered overwhelming gratitude from frontline workers and the community. "Rounds Bakery has individually wrapped fresh breakfast and lunch items (including muffins, bagels, baked goods, yogurt, custom sandwiches, and wraps), a requirement during these times," exclaims Dr. Lynch.

Restaurant owners Kaya and Kevin Stanley, of Old Granite Street Eatery, started Feed Our Heroes in alliance with other local restaurants and sponsors committed to feeding our ER staff and first responders. "As our frontline protectors, they are the ones coming in contact with our most critically ill and at-risk. Because of this, they are working around the clock, avoiding grocery stores and avoiding take-out," says Kaya Stanley. "We wanted to give back to the real heroes in the fight against COVID-19." Feed Our Heroes also sparks business and allows hard-hit local restaurant owners to retain employees so they can keep this economy moving.

Highlights of Rounds 4 Heroes + Feed Our Heroes:

• The fresh food deliveries go to local hospitals and testing centers including Renown Regional Medical Center(RRMC), Saint Mary’s Regional Medical Center (STM), Northern Nevada Medical Center (NNMC), Renown South Meadows Medical Center (SMMC), VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System (VASN), Carson Tahoe Regional MedicalCenter (CTRMC), Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority (REMSA).
• First Responders (REMSA, Fire Fighters, Police Officers) are welcomed into a partner restaurant each day of the week for a complimentary meal.
• Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows (BGCTM) has opened its doors to give childcare to essential community members, including frontline workers. R4H + FOH donations help supply diapers, food and other essential items to BGCTM.
• Local restaurants involved in Rounds 4 Heroes and Feed Our Heroes make a positive impact on the healthcare community and also provide much needed jobs.

The Rounds 4 Heroes and Feed Our Heroes collaborative project is affiliated with High Fives Foundation, a Truckee-based, national 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization that focuses on preventing life-changing injuries and provides resources and hope if they happen. It was formed as a way to “pay-it-forward” by the founder, Roy Tuscany, after his own recovery from a spinal cord injury. The Foundation has expanded to help 300 athletes and veterans from 38 states since its inception in 2009. High Fives Foundation is the fiscal sponsor for the Rounds 4 Heroes and Feed Our Heroes campaign.

Rounds 4 Heroes and Feed Our Heroes helps feed and assist frontline workers and family members throughout Reno, Sparks and Carson City. It's a 'win-win' in that restaurants hit hard during the pandemic can stay afloat and frontline workers receive much-needed support. "We are doing all we can to help drive our recovery in Northern Nevada and create a stronger community for the future," Dr. Lynch remarks.
