Jake Hargis is a Northern Nevada native who attended the University of Nevada Reno and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Health Ecology. He is currently pursuing a Masters of Public Health in Health Administration & Policy, also from the University of Nevada Reno. Since joining the Spine Nevada team in 2017, Jake has been one of the driving forces behind the company's strategic and operational success.
Prior to his current role as Vice President of Operations, Jake served as Director of Clinical and Ancillary Operations with SpineNevada. Other professional experience includes acting as Regional Director of Practice Management and business operations consultant. During this period, Jake directly oversaw clinical and business operations, business optimizations, corporate financial analysis and planning, and strategic management and direction of eight specialty physicians' practices while also providing business operation and optimization consulting for multiple other private practice physician groups. Jake provides strong leadership and accountability for the operational excellence of our business through consistent implementation of the tools and processes necessary to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Sandra DeLeon is the Director of Administrative Operations at SpineNevada, Minimally Invasive Spine Institute in Reno, Nevada. She is a former Director of Operations and Business Development at the University of Nevada School of Medicine and Director of Community Health at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Health System. Sandra is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Certified Medical Practice Executive.
Sandra has 17 years of healthcare experience and 8 years of Compliance and Ethics experience in the for profit, not for profit and academic settings. She is a graduate of the Trinity University Healthcare Administration Program and completed her Administrative Residency at CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Sandra is also a MSW graduate of the Worden School of Social Work at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas.
Carlene Slusher is a personable senior level executive with more than 12 years of progressive experience in public and non-profit accounting, critical access hospital finance and accounting, and rural health clinic finance and accounting. Her strengths include financial operations, oversight of accounting, budget, and financial analysis and reporting, revenue cycle management, financing activities, team development, and accounts receivable management.
Prior to joining SpineNevada, Carlene served as the Chief Financial Officer for Seneca Healthcare District in Chester, California. She was responsible for oversight of revenue cycle activities, billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, purchasing, admitting, and the health information management (HIM) department. Carlene was as well responsible for preparation of annual budgets, and operational and capital financial planning and participated in strategic planning as part of the District’s Senior Leadership Team.
Molly Caneday, MBA serves as the Digital Media and Communications Director for the SpineNevada, Vein Nevada and Swift Urgent Clinic practices. Molly is responsible for oversight and creation of strategies and content for the multidisciplinary practice electronic and web-based communications, including websites, email, social media and other platforms in support of the organization. She collaborates with others in the organization to ensure that marketing and messaging in print and digital communications are both impactful and educational. Molly plays a key role in creating the company websites, using best practices in content development, site design, search-engine optimization and web analytics. Prior to working for SpineNevada, Molly served in a role with Prizm Development, a nationally recognized developer of spine centers. While at Prizm, her responsibilities included referral development, marketing and recruitment efforts with private practice specialty groups and hospital spine, ortho and neuro service lines. Molly completed her bachelors degree with honors in Marketing at Oklahoma State University and earned an MBA at Baylor University.
Rachel Lee joined SpineNevada in 2013 and she has over 10 years’ experience in the medical field. During her time at SpineNevada, Rachel has assisted in opening the Radiology department and the new offices in Reno, Sparks and Carson City. She currently is the Human Resources Coordinator for all locations.
Prior to working for SpineNevada, Rachel worked in Skilled Nursing as an Admissions Coordinator where she determined patient eligibility for Skilled Nursing and Therapy Services. Duties also included marketing physicians and health professionals in the Reno and Sparks area.
Rachel has earned the SHRM-CP national certification for Human Resources professionals and has also completed certification in Human Resources Management from the University of Nevada, Reno.
