Amanda joined the SpineNevada team in 2014 following the completion of her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Colorado School of Medicine Child Health Associate/Physician Assistant Program. Amanda completed her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry as Summa Cum Laude at Brigham Young University-Hawaii in 2011.
Throughout Amanda’s PA education, she focused her education and clinical experience towards preparing herself to become a skilled and knowledgeable spine PA. She had the unique opportunity to complete five orthopedic rotations, several of which specialized in spine. Amanda has attained diagnostic and management skills in imaging, scoliosis, bone infections and sports injuries. She also has experience in Emergency Medicine, Women’s Health, Family Medicine, Pediatric Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Infectious Disease. Amanda completed an elective Urgent Care rotation in southern Belize in February 2014.
She is the current chair of the Newsletter Committee for the Nevada Academy of Physician Assistants and volunteer precepts medical students at the University of Nevada Reno School of Medicine Student Outreach Clinic.
Amanda currently dances in the corps de ballet for the Sierra Nevada Ballet, and was previously a soloist with Ballet Wichita prior to PA school. Amanda’s other hobbies include graphic design, hiking, skiing, and traveling.
Amanda looks forward to assisting others in reaching their athletic and personal goals just as she’s had the opportunity to reach her athletic goals in the performing arts.
